I am from out of town and as a Anytime Fitness member I dropped in on this location while in Saskatoon on business. A GREAT location. Super friendly and accommodating staff. A great variety of new equipment. Washrooms and shower rooms are "roomy".

Yesterday I had a very unpleasant meeting with a personal trainer, Sarah, at Anytime Fitness (Stonebridge location) in Saskatoon. My meeting was scheduled for 7:00 PM yesterday. She was running late since she was chatting to another customer about Netflix in front of me. She went to the bathroom and I was kept waiting a little longer. On the way into the room she stopped to talk to chat to some other people. Then finally sat me down in the room for our meeting. As I am a busy professional student my time is valuable and I would have been happy to come at a later time if the trainer was unavailable to meet at 7:00 PM. There was no apology for running late. When we sat down after we introduced ourselves she asked me about my goals of training. On a good week I can get to the gym 3-4 times because I have very long days (12-14 hours). Sarah started off friendly and said she could make a 5 day plan for best case and was going to ask some questions, one of them being if I was getting enough protein. I answered that I felt like I did. She stopped mid-speech on importance of protein lecture to ask if my face was always like that because I was hard to read and looked so serious. I did not know how to reply to that comment because I was just listening politely at this point and a little offended she would comment on my facial expression when as she admitted, she did not know me. I tried to explain that I understand the importance of protein but I am not looking to try and be a body builder. She interrupted and said “becoming a body building does not happen by accident” and continued talking about how diet, specifically protein, is important and that how this was more important than working out properly at the amount I was doing currently. Without asking me if I was open to more diet advice, when I had already stated my gym goals, she stopped and said “I thought as a professional student that you would want to know all about this and not just “do” at the gym. I think the biggest problems with gyms nowadays is that people just “do”. I try and help women like you all the time but you won’t improve if you are only putting in 50%”. I was patiently waiting to explain that at this time in my life it’s a bonus if I can get the time to eat lunch in a day and that diet is not my priority right now but before I could respond she continued saying “Maybe you think you know more than me with your education?”. This was frankly insulting, I had not inferred in any respect I felt like I knew more than her about exercise or diet. Furthermore she said, “why are you even here, did someone force you to be here? I’m so uncomfortable right now. I have never had someone where I have not written something down for them and you are the first. You know I’m doing this for free, I don’t get paid for doing this! Most people are overjoyed to be here”. I was very shocked by this. However, she was right with her response I was definitely not overjoyed to be there given how she was acting and also extremely uncomfortable. I wanted to be here to work on my fitness goals and improve HOWEVER I was being realistic that about my goals and was not going to promise something I would not be able to do. And instead of apologizing for over-reacting or assuming that she knew what I was thinking without me saying anything she said “I can’t help you with your goals unless you can commit 100% “and talked about how improvement/benefits could not be gained from what I was doing. I sent an account of my experience to Anytime Fitness and their response was to detail her ‘impressive’ credentials on her resume and apologize for her being personable and socializing with other members in the club to make them feel comfortable (at the expense of me feeling comfortable).I am clearly not a valued member there. I think it is appalling their gym is represented by someone so unprofessional that is not interested in accommodating people with different goals. I hope my experience can help others make an informed decision if this is someone they want to be seeking advice from.

I wouldn't tie myself there! Their Staff are very unproffesional made me feel pretty uncomfortable when I interviewed to register. No, you're not as popular as a gym as you describe yourself, let clients speak of you positively before you go overboard with your fluffiness.

Good luck Saskatoon I will be reviewing more and more businesses because I believe that The person who pays have the full right to make rules. I pay you, you obey my conditions because without my money you have no business to run.

Your manager sips on her coffee between every 3 words that come out of her mouth! Did I have to hear her drinking ? No!!! That's equivalent to chewing gum with snaps in between gross and disgusting. Plus, her speech is very unclear or just not sure about the rules and regulation that comes with signing up a contract. Another thing she never introduced herself so I don't even know who I spoke to!

Never met such arrogant people who are trying to sell you something and not care at all to put full attention into your time.

That whole gimmick of you can use our gym anywhere is a lie they're all privately owned so their rules and regulations change accordingly.

I love this location. The equipment is up to date and not broken, the facility is clean and I love the fact that it's 24hrs for members.
