What this indicates to me is that they want you to come in and try the lessons before laying on the sales tactics which is great for business, but bad for the consumer. I at this point do not trust the business but may in the future decide to attend a free class to see if I am correct.

I love it because of the top notch instruction. The coaches are not demeaning and always push you to do your best. I could have asked for a better place to train. Momentum is the best!!!

I called, looked on the website, and Facebook messaged to try and find prices prior to coming to one of the free lessons. The person I spoke to dodged all of my questions saying it was against policy as they want to go through things in person giving the analogy that you don't buy a car before giving it a test drive, I explained that I just wanted prices to be able to know if the prices were prohibitive before coming and trying the free lesson (using the same analogy I said I wouldn't test drive a Ferrari when car shopping as I know I cannot afford it) but they continued to give me a bunch of rigmarole about their morals and policies.

I attended Modern Martial Arts Centers open mat the Friday previous and it was far better. Everyone was very technical as well as welcoming and helpful and no one had an issue with me sparring.

The only thing increasing my review was the instructor was very knowledgable and friendly. The owners attitude towards the sport is the reason I wouldn’t recommend this gym. There are several other gyms in the area with high level instruction and perhaps Momentum has the lowest prices in town but due to the drop in fee I doubt it.

I always tell people in my work and rugby circles about the exciting things that are happening at this facility. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in trying something new in a supportive environment. The coaches and other long-time students make an effort to help you out and encourage you. They are also very family oriented! This facility offers something for beginners, those who are experienced, those with little ones, and everything in between. Also, they are very affordable for the variety of classes and times they offer. Check it out!

I stopped into this gym last week to find out what the class schedule for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu looked liked as I was in town for work. I was told by the woman at the front that Wednesday was the next class and that the first class is always free. Just like is advertised on their website. I went to class Wednesday and was told that I’d have to pay the 20 dollars drop in fee as I was just passing through and wasn’t actually planning on signing up. OK, not what was discussed but they’re running a business. I paid my 20 dollars and attended the blue belt instructors class. She was very informative and demonstrated the technique in a very easy to follow way. At the end of the class when everyone else stayed behind to get some sparring in I was informed that I wouldn’t be allowed to stay as the owner “didn’t know what affiliation I train with”. She then went on to say that she wasn’t even supposed to let me train with them as I don’t train at a Renzo Gracie affiliate in my home town. I travel for work and try to drop in on as many schools as possible to keep up with my training, and this is the first negative experience I’ve ever had. Everyone I’ve ever trained with is more than happy to have someone new on the mats, and help grow the community surrounding this sport. She then went on to tell me that despite not being allowed to train me, the next class is Saturday and if I dropped in again and paid then I would be allowed to stay and roll afterwards.
