Three months after he moved in he had unexpectantly obtained his citizenship and deiced to purchase a modest home as he no longer wanted to pay rent.

The tenant took me to the rentalsman and I counter claimed and provided numerous text's of him apologizing for breaking the lease as well as the e mail he had sent to his realtor asking for assistance in breaking the lease.

They are unable to help anyone looking to have heat turned on in cold weather. There is no rule/law that says Condos must activate their heat at a certain time or temperature. It is left up to the Condo board to decide when they "feel" it's needed. This seriously needs to be fixed.

To the shock of my landlord friends, lawyer friend and realtor, I lost.

He moved out with 8 months left in the lease so i kept the damage despot as I lived over 5 hours away and was forced to make 2 trips to clean the house that he left filthy as well as damaged the furniture and walls.

These are the most miserable people I've dealt with in this organization. Before the Saskatoon office opened I'd call Regina and they were usually pretty friendly and helpful. But now that I call Saskatoon, they're just rude. I've been on both sides of the fence (in the wrong, and had a landlord that was in the wrong) and when I'd call to ask for advice or tips, each time it was terrible. I spoke with 2 different women and a man on 3 separate occasions and each time was ridiculous.

He also sent me by mistake an e mail that was meant for his realtor asking how he could break the lease and was advised by the Realtor that he could not.

If there was a less than 1 star, that's what they deserve. This department is just a waste of space and tax payer money. They never do anything that helps out a landlord even when they know it is the tenant's fault, where the tenant isn't even paying rent, and they blame you and find faults in the agreement. Wonder how sympathetic they would be if they ended up getting a tenant like that.

This government agency is making these kind of decisions so they can keep the number of claims up as to justify their existence. They have ensured that I will never look into becoming a landlord and are probably the main cause of why there is a shortage of decent affordable housing.

Heard many stories from landlords regarding how it is close to impossible to be awarded a judgment against a tenant. Until I reluctantly became a landlord I assumed these stories were mostly fabricated.

Does not do anything to help the landlord. There are so many hoops to jump thru just to get a hearing and by the time you get a hearing, the lease is already over. The laws and rules need a complete overhaul. New laws need to made with the landlords included in the process.

We found a tenant who asked if we would allow him to sign a minimum of a 1 year lease. We agreed and allowed him and his family to move into our home (not revenue property) and we left if furnished including a snow blower in the heated double car garage.

    The most unhelpful department.

The whole legislation or whatever needs a complete overhaul, needs to be made by somebody with a little common sense.
